NZGCSA Environment Award Guide - What’s involved
In these times of increased environmental awareness and regulation, and with turf and amenity landscapes under public and legislative scrutiny, environmental management and responsibility has become a primary issue. The award is presented to the golf course judged to have the most environmentally sustainable practices and management in place.
The Process:
The nominee must fill out a application form and also provide supporting documentation with your application demonstrating how your course has implemented the most environmentally sustainable practices or management displayed excellence in golf course management.
Upon receiving all applications the Judging Panel will conduct an assessment of the applicants based upon their application form and create a short list of golf courses that will make it through to the second round.
From there a course visit is conducted by the judging team.
Winner is chosen and announced.
Award Prize:
$3,500 cash prize to the winning golf course.
$1,500 cash prize to the Superintendent of the winning golf club. Such prize money must be used for continued education/study trip for environmental stewardship.
Eligibility:
Open to all golf courses in New Zealand that are members of the NZGCSA.
